IV therapy is a common procedure used to treat dehydration, severe infections, and to administer medications. For this reason, Emmanuel Medical Care has expanded its range of services to offer you the opportunity to find everything in one place: medical treatment and wellness support.

Intravenous (IV) therapy delivers fluids, vitamins, medications, and dissolved substances directly into the bloodstream through a vein, providing fast and predictable results that many people use for hydration, energy, and overall wellness.

These substances may include electrolytes, vitamins, minerals, or medications. Intravenous administration allows them to bypass the digestive system and reach rapid, predictable blood levels. These substances can also be administered intramuscularly.

  • Most wellness formulations are saline or lactated Ringer's plus combinations of B-vitamins (eg, B12, B complex), vitamin C, magnesium, trace minerals, and sometimes glutathione or NAD+. A popular mix dubbed the “Myers' cocktail” (magnesium, calcium, B-complex, vitamin C) is frequently used for overall wellness support.

  • After creating platelet-rich plasma from a patient's blood sample, that solution is injected into the target area, such as an injured knee or a tendon. In some cases, the clinician may use ultrasound to guide the injection. The idea is to increase the concentration of specific growth factors, in a specific area to accelerate the healing process.

  • Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) combines plasma—the liquid portion of the blood—with a high concentration of platelets, which contain growth factors that promote healing and tissue regeneration. It is obtained from a sample of the patient's own blood, which is processed in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. By using the patient's own tissues, PRP injections are safe and can be used on their own or in combination with other treatments.

  • PRP injections are used for a variety of conditions*, ranging from pain and musculoskeletal injuries to cosmetic procedures, including but not limited to:

    • Tendon, ligament, muscle, and joint injuries
    • Post-surgical healing
    • Osteoarthritis
    • Hair loss
    • Skin rejuvenation

  • RP injections may be able to treat a range of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. For example, chronic tendon injuries such as tennis elbow or jumper's knee can often take a long time to heal, so adding PRP shots to a treatment regimen can help to stimulate the healing process, decrease pain and enable a return to activities sooner.

  • Now, post-surgical PRP injections have expanded to help heal muscles, tendons and ligaments, as procedures on these tissues have notoriously long recovery times.

  • Early studies indicate that PRP injections may help treat osteoarthritis pain and stiffness by modulating the joint environment and reducing inflammation, but research is growing.t can

  • PRP injections can be effective in treating male pattern baldness, both in preventing hair loss and promoting new hair growth. PRP can also aid in the stimulation of hair growth after hair transplants.

  • PRP injections are sometimes used as an anti-aging treatment, but there is little evidence to show that PRP reduces wrinkles and other signs of aging.
